UQ Centre filled with RoboCup Participants.

Australian RoboCup Nationals 2014 in UQ Centre St Lucia

The UQ Centre at the St. Lucia Campus of the University of Queensland is a huge hall, just right for the RoboCup Nationals. The hall was comfortably air-conditioned, cooler than the 24 degrees outside in Brisbane, (and also cooler than the 28 degrees that day in supposedly cold Tasmania).

The hall was so big that it was difficult to get the whole student work area in to one photograph. This is the left of the student work area, with practice robot soccer tables visible in the center and left of the image.

Parent and mentor seats Australian RoboCup Junior Nationals 2014

Seating was provided for parents, teachers and mentors. This area was packed on Saturday. Many of the younger teams left for home late Saturday, so there was plenty of seating available when this photograph was taken early Sunday morning, before many of the spectators had arrived. Note one of the RoboCup Rescue Robot arenas in the center foreground. Dance judges can be seen seated in a row on the far right of this image. The rapidly moving lady in green on the left is Joanna Burk, the effervescent contact at marvelous sponsor MTA for all things LEGO MindStorms in Australia and New Zealand. Thanks MTA!
